I suddenly realized that it’s only eight more days until the return of my second favorite (and maybe the only one I’ll watch this fall) reality show, Lifetime’s Project Runway. It’s moving up an hour (9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, which means 8 p.m. Central–and I don’t know what time Mountain people can see it) on Thursday nights. The format is ninety minutes, but details haven’t been provided as to whether they’ll feature another season of Models of the Runway or are expanding air time for the design competition. This season has more contestants than usual–seventeen–and tonight I watched all their casting videos and picked my favorites to keep an eye on and my favorites to go home early.
Will I be playing along and designing for Mattel’s Model Muse dolls?
Does Barbie have a dream house?
I’m already auditioning my models. In case you think they’ve just been lying around naked in a wicker box all summer, you should know that some of them have joined together to form an all-model rock band, The Opposite of Math. As for whether or not my own personal muse Summer will return–stay tuned!
I read (on Towleroad, I think)that the expanded format was because veiwers wanted to see more of the discussion among the judges and more “behind the scenes” stuff. It didn’t say anything about Models. I figured that would take the other thirty minutes of the two hour block, though. I just hope the “behind the scenes” portion doesn’t mean “Real World–PR Edition.”
Apparently PR will be followed by a half-hour show with former contestants Santino Rice and Austin Scarlett traveling the country and doing fashion makeovers. So that may be the other thirty minutes of the two-hour block.
Huzzah!
I know!
So you will be doing two reality challenges at once? How will you ever do it?
“Work of Art” should be winding down soon, shouldn’t it? Fortunately, my crazy efforts and potential meltdowns won’t be broadcast. =)
That could probably be a reality show all by itself =)
I think we have a few more weeks of WOA left.
no Survivor????????????
I’ve committed to not watching any Mark Burnett shows if he follows through on producing a Sarah Palin reality show. This alleged show is supposed to feature the natural beauty that is Alaska, and I feel she’s been a less-than-stellar custodian of the state’s eco systems and wildlife. And if the show ever features her family, I’ll keep my record of not watching reality shows with the potential to exploit children and adolescents (Gosselins, Osbornes, Simmons, “Toddlers and Tiaras,” “Wife Swap,” even the nanny shows).
This is a hard decision because I love “Survivor,” and it won’t matter at all to Mark Burnett–but it matters to me.
Oh Becks, you are not up on the latest with PR … models of the runway is axed! The extra 30min is actually going to be used on seeing the process and judging … and apparently this group is needy so I say more drama … i have not been able to look at all the designers yet … although there was one I liked thus far… you see I have been READING.
Yeah, me, too. I’m on my twenty-seventh book and nineteenth painting in the past eight weeks. This could explain why I don’t know what’s going on in the world–other than mostly success with the latest oil cap and the nobody-can-dodge-it news of Lindsay Lohan’s incarceration.
I don’t know what time Mountain people can see it.
Mountain people have televisions?
Edith and I await the return of your models with bated breath. (Me more so than Edith, cause you know, she quit breathing a while back.)
I hope my efforts will make you and Spectral Edith happy.
