In the second episode of Project Runway, the designers were asked to create a maternity outfit for any type of occasion–their choice. Guest judge model/actress Rebecca Romijn said she was interested in a silhouette that suggested “pregnancy chic.”
For the rest of the season’s challenges, I’ll be switching models. So who did I pick this time?
Mattel Top Model Faizah rocks the baby bump. For detailed explanations about my design, please check out my Flickr set.

Trivia: Rebecca Romijn was the physical model for Sheila in the TJB novels. As soon as she stepped out from behind the screen, I excitedly said, “Sheila! And she’s pregnant!” Sometimes my different realities get a bit muddled.

I can’t take credit for the shoes. But wait–don’t you already have a fantastic pair of yellow shoes?
Thanks–I like the back, too! I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it worked.

Don’t you think a little mystery is good for the soul?

LOL Somehow pregnant and Barbie become an oxymoron. The dress is nice though.

Thank you. Did you ever see the pregnant Midge doll, which caused Mattel all kinds of controversy? (There are also photos of a pregnant Barbie on the Internet, but I don’t think that was ever an actual doll made by Mattel.)

Unfortunately my fashion doll knowledge is some lacking. And as for sewing I’ve been using the sewing machine for an end table.
Okay, I now have a whole new physical perception for Shelia. =0)
I hope I didn’t ruin the image you created for yourself. A visual cue was given in I’m Your Man when Sheila and Rebecca switch dance partners and Sheila laughs, “since people often confused the two supermodels.”
Not at all…if anything, you simply enhanced it.
I’m so glad. =)
