Current Photo Friday theme: Warped
Old wood. I sympathize as I, too, show my years in sun damage.

Current Photo Friday theme: Heavy
Research is heavy. The books, the stories, the lyrics, the losses. Selected a few from among my shelves of these. Today is the 43rd anniversary of John Lennon’s murder. Imagine…if the world he imagined existed for us.

Current Photo Friday theme: Fall
Renaissance Festival, Todd Mission, Texas, 2012
You can’t see leaves changing colors in Houston this time of year, but there are other fall sights in the countryside.
Bonus photo from the Renaissance Festival in 2008. You never know who you’ll find in the woods, be it musketeer, Viking, pirate, tavern keeper, knight…
Current Photo Friday theme: Ice
Central Park, Manhattan, February 1998
My first trip to New York City. If you squint, you can see ice beneath those skaters.
Current Photo Friday theme: Gold
Thursday shouldn’t have been stressful, but it was, so between all the other things I did, I colored a page from Creative Haven’s “Enchanted” coloring book. On a whim, I decided to make the unicorn gold. Then I found out “Gold” is today’s Photo Friday theme. Believe in your own magic, indeed.
Current Photo Friday theme: Roof
Back in May 2012, I spotted this Art Car in the wild and captured a photo of it.
In the Neverending Saga, there’s a little boy who likes to tell corny jokes to an audience of adults who think he’s pretty great. In his honor, I found a few zebra jokes, because I’m still looking for reasons to laugh. I share them with you, in case you are, too.
Why do zebras have stripes?
Because they don’t want to be spotted.
What side does a zebra have the most stripes on?
The outside.
What happened when the leopard tried to sneak out of his enclosure by pretending to be a zebra?
He was spotted.
What do a zebra and a panda have in common?
The answer is pretty black and white.
Why is it so difficult to sell a toy zebra?
You can never find the barcode.
What’s black and white and eats like a horse?
A zebra.
Who would win in a fight between a kangaroo and a zebra?
The zebra. Because he has so many black belts.
What do zebras have that no other animal has?
Baby zebras.
What do the penguins get for their lunch at the zoo?
Half an hour, same as the zebras.
Which animal is the oldest?
Zebras, because they are still in black and white.
Why didn’t the donkey cross the road?
Because he saw what happened to the zebra.
Current Photo Friday theme: Seasons
November 1979, Alabama
These leaves are why we often call the season “Fall” instead of “Autumn.” (I think my nephews were “acting” like my parked car had hit them, and my nieces were making the leaves go airborne for effect. My four little stars.)
