I was tagged by mallory_blog, and I figure it’s been long enough that I can think of some new stuff.
RULES:
* 1. Post these rules.
* 2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about themselves on their journals.
* 3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people
* 4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
* 5. No tag-backs
1. The scar on my forehead was the end result of a series of mishaps that began with a cat who had worms.
2. I know people’s secrets that I’ve never told anyone. I won’t use them in my fiction, either.
3. My sister accidentally knocked out my two front baby teeth when I was seven.
4. I repaid her a couple of years later by throwing up watermelon in the middle of the night in the bed we shared.
5. I suspect I will never finish those three volumes of Proust.
6. I sent two postcards to Post Secret. I didn’t feel better afterward.
7. I’m convinced that whenever I walk into my living room, a dog will die on whatever show Tom is watching.
8. I helped someone cheat to pass a high school history class, and I’m not sorry.

dawni tagged me with this:
A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag “whoever wants to do it”.
I’ve done this meme before and you can see it here, but this time, I will go ahead and tag:
geb1966ky, davidpnyc, dogrl, sea_weed, ravenspb, retaliashun, and crossthebar.
Thanks!
On your LJ or blog, list your favorite:
1 — Holiday Movie: The Ref–both because it’s funny and because of the circumstances under which I first saw it.
2 — Holiday Story: Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory”
3 — Holiday Song: “Oh Holy Night”
4 — Holiday TV Special: “A Charlie Brown Christmas”
5 — Holiday Sweet Treat: I ONLY eat these at Christmas and because it’s a tradition for my mother to give each of her children a box–chocolate covered cherries.
6 — Holiday Gift You Ever Received: The year I got fired from a law firm–that was the first present. The second was how losing that job freed me to spend Christmas with my entire family. We had no idea it would be the last Christmas that my father was healthy. There was a moment when I looked around and noted, “Hey. It’s just the five of us!” (Rare not to have grandkids and in-laws around.) We were all laughing and reminiscing and we took photos. The memory of that Christmas has sustained me through some hard times and is the reason why in subsequent years when something bad has happened, I realized it might end in blessings I could never have anticipated.

Tagged if you feel like it.
I was tagged, so….
I don’t think my top two favorite songs ever change.
1. The Boxer–Simon and Garfunkel
2. Thunder Road–Bruce Springsteen
As soon as I try to come up with the other eight, I’m tormented by songs I love from Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, Led Zeppelin, R.E.M., Prince, Stevie Nicks, George Harrison, John Mellencamp, Carly Simon, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimi Hendrix. Ultimately, I think the list changes depending on whether I’m thinking of music, lyrics, or personal associations.
And I’m afraid the eight I’m choosing from many favorites all give lie to the assertion that I’m thirty-five. Dammit.
3. Hey Jude–The Beatles
4. Good Vibrations–The Beach Boys
5. Boys of Summer–Don Henley
6. Sympathy for the Devil–The Rolling Stones
7. Subterranean Homesick Blues–Bob Dylan
8. Imagine–John Lennon
9. Hey, Hey, My, My (Into the Black)–Neil Young
10. Guilty–Randy Newman
