Photo Friday, No. 531

Current Photo Friday theme: Winter

We had an unexpected freeze, and I was trying to take a photo of my poor damaged sheffelerra. I’ve had two of them for many years–one since the mid-1990s–and now both are probably lost. What I didn’t realize when I shot this was that I had a little photo bomber, if you can see him. Thanks, Lynne, for identifying him as a stink bug. I’m sure he is a stinker who doesn’t care a whit that my beloved plants are gone.

Strut Your Mutt!

Our transport rescue group is proud to be part of Best Friends’ annual Strut Your Mutt fundraising event. We’re hoping to stay in first place with our fundraising campaign, and we know we’ll have a lot of fun at the October 15 Strut Your Mutt day in Houston. Come out and join us!

If you can’t join us, you can still donate. This year, I didn’t form my own team. Instead, I donated to Timothy J. Lambert’s team. He would LOVE for you to help him reach his fundraising goal. You can go to his team page and read why this matters to him and even donate by clicking here [link is redacted because fundraiser has ended].

Thank you for helping us take Houston’s dogs and cats (and so far, two PIGS!) from death row to loving homes. We will always work to save them all!

Photo Friday, No. 518: Day 7

Current Photo Friday theme: Seven Day Challenge

Unfinished Project 7: Leisure Time. I once had this vision of friends sitting with me around the table on winter evenings and Craft Nights, a fire in the fireplace, while we colored and talked and listened to good music. Time to color? Ha! That’s as crazy a concept as a “winter evening” in Houston.

The current Photo Friday theme involves taking photos of anything for seven days. I’ll be posting seven days of photos that I’m calling Unfinished Projects.

Welcome to Stars Hollow!

Today, October 5, was the sixteenth anniversary of the first episode that aired of Gilmore Girls. Netflix teamed up with more than 200 coffee shops across the U.S. to celebrate and to promote the four new Gilmore Girls movies that will air on the network in late November. I love coffee, and I love Gilmore Girls, so I went to Houston’s Bosta coffee shop and snapped a few photos for my fellow fans.

Unlike at one pop-up location, Luke portrayer Scott Patterson wasn’t there. But Luke’s personality was strongly present.

Luke never smiles like this beautiful barista!

Lorelai was there in spirit–under the coffee sleeve.

Looking forward to the end of next month when we can all visit Luke’s and Stars Hollow with our favorite residents–and Kirk!–again.
