On December 9, 2007, a shooter opened fire in two locations: Arvada, Colorado, where he used a 9mm handgun, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he used a Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle, resulting in the following deaths and injuries:

VIRGINIA TECH, April 16, 2007, 32 dead

An undergraduate student at the university killed 32 people and wounded 17 others with two semi-automatic pistols, a .22-caliber Walther P22 semi-automatic handgun and a 9 mm semi-automatic Glock 19 handgun. The shootings took place at two locations, a residence hall and an academic building, before the perpetrator turned his own life at the scene. Officials said the perpetrator’s choice of 9 mm hollow-point ammunition increased the severity of the 17 injuries.

Six others were injured jumping out of windows to escape the shooter.

On October 2, 2006, a shooting occurred at the West Nickel Mines School, an Amish one-room schoolhouse in the Old Order Amish community of Nickel Mines, a village in Bart Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The gunman took hostages and shot ten girls, killing five, before taking his own life in the schoolhouse.

On January 30, 2006, a woman killed a former neighbor with whom she had argued. She then went to the mail processing plant in Goleta, California, gained access to the grounds, stole a badge from an employee who she told to leave, and entered the facility. In different areas, she shot and killed six employees using her Smith & Wesson 910 pistol before turning the gun on herself and taking her own life.

A gunman opened fire with a .38 caliber revolver outside the Sash Assembly of God church in Sash, Texas, on August 28, 2005. He killed two people there:

The perpetrator fled the area and came upon two women who had stopped their truck and horse trailer at an intersection on their way home from a weekend of horseback riding. He killed both with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol.

He later barricaded himself in his house, and after an hours-long standoff with police, took his own life.

In Redlake, Minnesota, a fifteen-year-old boy killed his sleeping grandfather, Police Sergeant Daryl Allen Lussier, Sr., age 58, and his grandfather’s girlfriend, Michelle Leigh Sigana, age 32, at home using a Ruger MK II .22 caliber pistol.

He then drove to Red Lake Senior High School, taking his grandfather’s two police-issue weapons, a .40 caliber Glock 23 pistol and a Remington 870 12 gauge pump-action shotgun, a gun belt, and a bulletproof vest, where he killed seven others before he took his own life after an exchange of gunfire with police officers.

The school shooting victims were:

At the Living Church of God in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on March 12, 2005, a church member used a 9mm Beretta handgun to fire 22 rounds into the congregation, killing the minister and six others, including the minister’s son. Four others, including the minister’s wife, were wounded, one critically. The perpetrator shot and killed himself midway through the second of the three magazines he had brought with him.
