Those curves are arches over the roadway. Decorative, but also, I suppose, indicating a pedestrian crosswalk.

Ya know, as much as I really don’t enjoy the Galleria area, it really does have a few pockets of prettiness. Unfortuntately, this particular pocket is not near the building where my office is moving.
