I wrote this short story “The TV Show Pitch” in which this younger TV executive pitches his idea for a TV series to a senior executive. His idea for a series is this: in the pilot episode everybody gets killed. When the senior executive asks what the rest of the series will consist of, he responds that the cameras will just record the corpses decomposing. The senior TV exec calls him a nut and throws him out of his office.
I was trying to make fun of the fact that the networks will put up almost anything on TV if they believe will watch it.
