1. Sock monkey–found!
2. People of LiveJournal: I can’t comment on your posts because LJ is apparently in Major Suck It Mode. At least that’s the technical term for it.
3. It thundered. No rain. Stupid weather.
4. I don’t really have a No. 4.
5. “Project Runway” resumes in less than twenty-four hours!
6. I’ll bet you’re thinking No. 5 should have been No. 4. Free your mind, and the rest will follow.
I. AM. SO. EXCITED.
Not to worry the people still on LJ couldn’t get on either. They claim the problem was caused by a massive DDoS attack. When I finally got on they didn’t recognize my ID or my password. Things haven’t worked right on LJ since they were bought by that Russian company. Also I getting tired of Cyrillic spam comments.
Since last fall I’ve been planning to move my blog to http://smilingbagel.com/
when my LJ paid account runs out. May move up the move now.
I almost never had spam on my LJ when I used it. I get plenty of it now with Word Press.
Overall, I like Word Press better, but one thing that Marika and I (and probably Tim) have noticed is that there’ll be less comments/interaction between commenters on your blog than you had on LJ. The founding community of bloggers blogging fell to Facebook and Twitter, and LJ is basically the last man standing. When you leave it, you’re like a pioneer, albeit on a trail that was worn smooth by earlier bloggers; sometimes it can get lonely on the trail.
I basically joined WordPress last summer when my nephew and his fiance moved to Nigeria to teach at the American School in Lagos. They used it to update the family about their lives. In late fall I started writing my entries here and posting a copy at LJ.
The Russian spam didn’t start on LJ until several months ago.
I use Safari with Foxfire as a fallback, but neither one can get on LJ this week. And yes I do miss LJ’s Friends page.
I subscribed to your blog–so you can count on me to always know when you update and go read. =)
I found that I can access LJ through Google Chrome, but not Internet Explorer.
Isn’t it crazy how different browsers perform? I use Chrome on my Mac, and could read almost everything (though it was slow) on LJ, but I couldn’t leave comments. I should try Firefox and see if that’s better. I occasionally have difficulty with Chrome viewing photos on blogs and have to use Firefox. On my PC and laptop, I usually use Firefox but have been known to use IE on the rare occasion. Oh–and Safari.
Yeah, missing LJ a lot but it’s starting to show signs of life again. We need to organise that weather trade soon! 5 degrees C is all I need dammit! 🙂
We got rain today! I assumed it was from you. I sent you a degree. Did it get there? 😉
