Observed on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the U.S. for honoring and mourning military personnel who died while serving in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
Houston National Cemetery, November 2013
Interesting. We don’t get a holiday for remembering those who died in wars, although the last Monday in May is a public holiday. We remember and honour veterans and those who died in wars on Armistice Day in November.
The November holiday for us is Veterans Day, which recognizes all who served in the armed forces.
