Do you mean the spelling?
I’m ambivalant about the spelling, but I meant the colo[u]rs on the outside of the typeface, as in inverted, so that all those are on the outside of the lines.

Yes, it makes life more colourful!
A lot of British English is derived from French, of course, so that adds to the mix.
I remember learning that most of our words ending in -tion are the same in French.
