30 Days of Creativity 2011, Day 5

I’m very excited today! Not because I saw the new trailer for Breaking Dawn* online, although when I told Tom that and how the movie would be out November 18, he said, “I have another reason to live.” He’s so supportive and never at all sarcastic, that Tom.

What I’m excited about is my new pop art series inspired by bottle caps. I put the finishing touches on the first two paintings today.

*I’d link to the Breaking Dawn trailer, but it’s being pulled for copyright issues as fast as people can upload it. Funny people.

Also, thank you to Tim for the donation of the bottle caps.

  1. I like this idea. I’m not sure how to say this, as I’ve never actually met these two outside of the virtual world, but they do the job well of pinning down what I have seen of their personalities.

  2. I like … I really do … the art and the bottle caps, but do you know how hard it is to find really unique bottle caps these days. Back when I was a kid and my dad and uncles used to pitch bottle caps I had an entire bag of goodies. If I find any good ones I’ll sent them on to you.

    1. I’ll shoot it for you tomorrow. Very often it’s the object propping up my Magnetic Poetry board, too.

    1. Worked out perfectly because I was able to use one of Izze’s ad phrases: Refreshingly Different. Thanks!

  3. Since I’ve thus far seen all of them, I guess I’ll have to watch Breaking Wind, er, Dawn too.

  4. I love and adore mixed media pieces and these are marvelous! I especially love the colors and style of Lindsey’s piece. It is so cheery, peaceful and restful looking.

I’d imagine that she has those qualities about her!

I am looking forward to seeing Breaking Dawn. Several of my online acquaintances are amused by my being such a fan of the movies and books.

    Hee.
I have managed to turn one of them, though. Into a fan. Not a vampire…
    😀

    1. Thanks!

Whenever someone I know goes off on a tangent about Twilight (books, movies, actors, readers, viewers, fans), in my head, I replace those with the books, movies, TV shows, actors, fans, readers, and viewers they love (e.g., Star Trek, Star Wars, Glee, Buffy or any of the other vampire franchises, Harry Potter, super hero franchises, Charmed, LOTR– even crime shows, which also have a fantasy element!), because it is a different story when their favorites are doing any of the same things/having the same successes.

It helps me to avoid being an ass about stuff that I don’t watch, read, or like–because I don’t want to sound like them or piss on their enjoyment. Live and let live, I think. Unless, of course, you actually can turn them into vampires. 😉
