February 26 is National Carpe Diem Day! How will you seize the day?
ETA: I seized the day to do a little writing and a lot of planning because I’m in a key chapter that’s a bit hard to write. Worked it in around some housework and outdoor time. When at the computer, here’s what I was listening to.
I hit the Madonna lode in the binder with Erotica; Like A Prayer; Something To Remember; Ray of Light; Music; and Hard Candy. Then I heard the Richard Marx CD Rush Street (I have others, but they aren’t stored in the binder) with one of my favorite songs by him, “Hazard.”
…with blasting Def Leppard, Rolling Stones, Queen, and snow capped mountains in the distance as I trudge through the cold and blistering sunshine for pancakes.
Hope you enjoyed your pancakes, and your playlist is pretty darn good. =)
Hazard! Did some one kill her?Did she drown? Did she runaway. It took me a while for me to read the quotes as I got teary
I think not having the answers is one of the reasons the song is so haunting.
People ask if “Hazard” is based on a true story, and it’s not. It just feels real, so it’s easy to understand why people ask.
A much worse question is the following one, with Richard Marx’s real, true answer below it. One of many reasons why I adore the man.
5. “Is your song, “Hazard,” auto-biographical?
Yep. I lived in a tiny town in Nebraska….drowned a girl that lived there and have been in hiding ever since. Except for when I wrote a song and made a record about it. Good question.
Bo and Luke Duke did it. If anything happens in Hazard you know they are behind it.
It all seemed to be tied in with that’s the night the lights went out in Georgia.
You know I have a murder song playlist, don’t you?
And instead of sleeping I did a deep dive into the Hazard voice. There are some theories out there
