Button Sunday

Today, November 13, is World Kindness Day. Hope you find an opportunity to share a little kindness with someone.

It’s also National Hug A Musician Day. If you have a musician nearby, give her or him a hug. Or just hang out with an imaginary musician the way I do: doll, fictional character, whatever.

  1. I have a rainbow version of “TREAT EVERYONE WITH KINDNESS” t-shirt and that always gets sharply polarized faces staring at me. Those that like the shirt are always warm, friendly and vocal with me about it. The rest scowl, avoid all eye contact but so far haven’t been disrespectful to me. But, if I wear a blue hawaiian print shirt on a Friday inside certain clearly unfriendly buildings at work, the disgusted looks on people’s faces brings down the atmosphere and completely erases what positive energy there was! Like, how dare me not fall into their bandwagon even though we all work together on this base! For those, I have been frequently tempted to wear my red gay disney shirts of olde to show them where their bandwagon came from. So, I still continue to wear that blue print shirt only on Fridays at work in pure Office Space fashion, and I have for more than seven years!!

      1. Mainly, it’s hawaiian prints or the usual polos. Some have red, some don’t. I only noticed that when people don’t conform, there’s a crowd in unfriendly buildings that stare down. So, I can’t wear red gay disney to work, but if I take Friday off for errands, I wear that rainbow kindness t-shirt and get happier faces back at me. I don’t think red nor yellow looks good on me anyway; blues, greens, etc. are more my favorites.

  2. In other news: Yeah Music Rocks!! The beat goes on, says the drummer in me. Music makes the people come together, sings my CD player. Dial M for Music calls the Ferrante and Treicher record. I want my MTV, rocks my past teenage self. Put the needle on the record…
