One of those rainy days and Mondays moods, sounds like.
As a follow-up, the painting’s title is “Finding Hope.”
Mourning. I don’t think that is quirte the perfect word but the best I can do. The sadness more permenant. The feet are rooted and unable to move and some of the umbrellas look like newsprint. So mourning for the world, personal.. just sadness. I like this but couldn’t look at it every day

Yep. What you see as feet rooted and unable to move I see as reflections on the water, which means there is light somewhere ahead or above so shadows can be cast. Light. Not all rain, then. Also, they are moving toward something (splashes, ripples, leg positions), and they are moving together. So while they travel beneath different umbrellas to protect themselves from the rain, they aren’t alone, and they have purpose. That’s why the title didn’t surprise me, though if you looked at her work, you saw she has a lot of similar scenes with different titles.
It is very hard, these days, to see newsprint and not think of everything wrong in the world. But shit, maybe there’s a sale at Penney’s!
