You belong among the wildflowers

One of my post-Christmas gifts. I’m excited to get this Tom Petty collection.

Description: The 4 CD deluxe edition of Wildflowers contains 54 tracks, 8 unreleased songs, and 24 unreleased alternate versions. In addition to the 15 track original album (remastered), the deluxe edition contains the album, All The Rest (10 songs from the original Wildflowers sessions), a full CD of 15 solo demos recorded by Petty at his home studio, and a disc of 14 live versions of Wildflowers songs recorded from 1995 – 2017.

My first husband was the person who initially got me interested in Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I’m not sure who got the TP records in the divorce. =)

Tom, too, is a Tom Petty fan. With the Heartbreakers, with the Traveling Wilburys, whether solo or with other artists, he’ll always be a favorite. His videos are good, too.

Sometime in the 1990s, we sat on the grass under the stars one night at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, where the stage was set with exotic rugs and candelabra enhancing the mood, while TP wove the magic of his music around us.

Tom Petty will always be connected to my friend Princess Patti. She was, probably remains, an ardent fan, and I always loved hearing her talk about him.
