From The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures:
It’s full-on summer here, but I was happy when I opened the kitchen blinds this morning to discover the return of the ruellia on the replacement trellises. The greenery has been there, but today I saw the flowers for the first time.
Flowers do so uplift one’s spirit, I find. I symbol of hope and rebirth.
I may not be able to grow my own, but cut flowers are grown to be enjoyed, and I don’t hesitate to buy them when I need a pick-me-up.
