Rebel Yell … Girls Just Want to have Fun … Billy Idol and Cyndi Lauper ruled my life … My bedroom, closet that it was papered in Billy
Pet Shop Boys, Def Leppard, Queen, I could go on forever, but one song really sticks out. One cold morning, I drove to class with Mikey and we got THIS SONG stuck in our heads all day long.
Team song: Grand Funk Railroad – “We’re An American Band,” ” Doobies – “China Grove”
WORST SONG EVER: “Billie, Don’t Be a Hero” – Yuck!
and as he started to go … she said Billy keep your head low … Billy don’t be a hero come back to me …
I know all the words to every song that anyone has ever hated. It’s my talent or my curse.
Challenge Accepted! Without aid of internet or any social media: “The Night Chicago Died!”
HA HA! I haven’t had time to get back here and comment on some of these, but THIS is the song I was going to tell you is my “Billy Don’t Be a Hero.”
Now I have to think of some others. Right off the top of my head, “Brandy, you’re a fine girl…”
I secretly change “I need a volunteer to ride out / And bring us back some [excrement],” because, like Mr. Holland’s Opus, I know too many.
Being from Saint Louis, what high school boy could not snicker at or join in with Chuck Berry singing MY DING-A-LING. By the way, one Saturday night a month Chuck still performs at Blueberry Hill’s Duck Room. Don’t know how he does it — I can’t stay up that late on a Saturday night.
Yep! Forgot about that one. Also, Jim Stafford’s “Wild Wood Flower,” and “Spiders and Snakes.”
Also know the words to Cow Patty and My Girl Bill by Jim Stafford. Love Cow Patty
Oh lord. Probably something by the Pet Shop Boys or Eurythmics.
That’s good stuff!
It dates me!
