…if they were mine. It’ll be hard to put them on the van to Colorado in a few days, but I know they’ll do great. Don’t let those big sad eyes fool you. These are some of the happiest dogs I’ve ever met–silly, inquisitive, affectionate, playful. I wish they could be adopted together, but I know they’ll be fine no matter what–dachshunds just need people of their own to love.

Aaaaaawwwwwww…
They are real sweethearts.
I want the one with the fuzzy face, but she would be running under Mlle. Renee all the time.
They are a comedy duo, trust me!
i can’t believe you are letting them go. If you were settled in the new estate, you would keep them, i’d bet.
I have to give myself the talk every day: They have new homes waiting for them somewhere else. I get to enjoy them while they’re here, then I have to let them go.
Let it go! Let it go!
Thanks–I needed an ear worm today!
OMG!
I keep trying to persuade Chris to let us get a dachshund!
They are my favorites! I love everything about them but their tendency to have back injuries. =( That’s why Tom built the little staircase that used to be at the foot of our bed, so ours wouldn’t have to jump on and off. After they were gone and Margot and Guinness came, they used the stairs, too. Then we took the stairs away when Guinness’s kidney issues made her start “leaking” on our bed. We were tired of laundering our bedding several times a week, then we got the new mattress and the dogs were banned from the bed. In retaliation, Guinness wakes us up repeatedly from four AM onward to be taken outside. Dogs have their ways of getting back at us. =)
