In which case, both of our dogs must be deaf!
Ha! Neither of ours is totally deaf, but close. The single benefit of this is that Margot, who used to be terrified as soon as she heard the first rumble of distant thunder, now only knows there’s a storm if it’s right on top of us. Also the July 4 fireworks shows no longer faze her.
Some idiot was letting off fireworks the other night and poor Scruffy was trembling like a leaf. Even Poppy was barking. And it’s not the fifth of November for over a month yet!
That date is just around the corner–and it feels like I was just reading about it on your LJ. Time needs to slow down just a little bit.
If Molly does go deaf (and with the ear itching problems Charles Spaniels get, maybe one day she will), the rest of the neighborhood (including us) will get to sleep. Until then, she continues to bark at 2 AM, at noises she hears from blocks away, or maybe she’s saving us from Attack of the Giant Savage Completely Invisible Aliens on Red Dwarf.
(Shhh. She’s communicating with creatures from her home planet.)
