BEST GAY ROMANCE 2015
*CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS*
*Deadline:* 31 May 2014
Editor: FELICE PICANO
For the sensual anthology series BEST GAY R0MANCE, I’m looking for short
stories, novel excerpts or memoirs (maximum 6,900 words) that may be sweet
and may be steamy–or both. I’d like to see your work steeped in emotion or
in eroticism, or both. I welcome stories about two men (or, who knows,
more) and even other combinations, but of people falling in love, being in
love, or having once loved. Wooing and winning, the first onset of a crush,
the gory details of a date gone wrong–or right, and that inexorable rush
of romance ongoing or recalled … the erotic is welcome, but the emphasis
ought to be on romance. What I’d like to see is something with a
little electricity in it. If you think it’s too weird, send it to me anyway.
*Send*
Original stories, or reprints if they were published before May
2011.
Original non-fiction stories and novel excerpts will be considered. Please
mark the latter as such.
If you are a self-published author, work from any year is welcome if you
wish to include a section of a novel, memoir, or story.
Women writing as Men, or Women writing as Women about Men are also welcome.
All I ask is that you are the copyright holder.
Diversity is welcome –in fact it’s desired.
Payment $50 to $75 plus two contributor copies. Multiple submissions are
okay.
Please send in .doc or .rtf; include real name/ address/ 50-word bio.

BEST GAY EROTICA 2015
Editor: Rob Rosen
Deadline: April 30, 2014
Submission Guidelines: short stories, memoirs, and erotic essays are now being accepted for Best Gay Erotica 2015 (the 21st edition). Length: 3,000-6,000 words. Original stories strongly preferred, though a couple of reprints might be used. Reprints must be solely owned by the author and must not have appeared in print during the past three years. BGE is not a “themed” anthology. All genres, kinks, and fantasies are fair game, just so long as the work is intensely erotic and exceedingly literary. M/M or multiple M/M only. Please send your best and hottest work for this prestigious collection. Absolutely no scenes of rape, bestiality, incest, or underage (below 18) sex.
How to submit: Send double spaced Times or Times New Roman 12 point black font Word document with pages numbered (.doc, not .docx) or RTF to BestGayErotica2015@yahoo.com. Indent the first line of each paragraph half an inch and double space (regular double spacing, do not add extra lines between paragraphs or do any other irregular spacing). U.S. grammar (double quotation marks around dialogue, etc.) required. Please do not submit more than two stories. Include real name/pen name/address/50-word bio. Payment is $60 plus two contributor copies.
Hi Becky,
I have a question. I know that you’re not editing these books but I thought that you might be able to give me some clarification based on your experiences as an editor. When Mr. Picano says “original stories” is he referring to works that have not seen publication before this collection? I also have a wretchedly old Word program because I’m too cheap to upgrade what I have. Would that be an issue for submissions?
Thank you for any help you can give me with these questions.
Original stories are unpublished and the writer’s own work. However, in Picano’s CFS, he says he will consider previously published stories that were published before May of 2011.
The .docx extension is for the newer versions of Word. Old versions of Word can’t open those files. But new versions of Word can read the old .doc files.
Word 2007 or later has the option to save documents as .doc files instead of .docx files so that any Word software can read them.
If your version of Word is old, it should be readable by any version of Word, including the new ones.
Hope that helps.
That helped a lot! Thank you!
You’re welcome.
