Current Photo Friday theme: Windshield Shot

Minute Maid Park, August 2017

Minute Maid Park is a retractable roof stadium in Houston, Texas. It opened in 2000 (under its previous name, Enron Field). It’s the home ballpark of the Houston Astros, a Major League Baseball team. I’ve seen the Astros play there under the park’s previous and current name.

  1. Oh, I have a bad feeling that there will be an increase in car accidents bazaringly featuring flying cameras

      1. At highway speeds, several miles off the side of that highway, there was a huge column of opaque brown, skyscraper wide in the distance, wafting upon high. At first, I thought of a bush or house fire, but as several cars and my own drove nearer yet tangential, it looked like it was also rotating. I thought that was just the relative motion of roadways, as I felt like I was driving around a gigantic tulip now more joshua tree with spinning branches now more collection of thick tornados without a thunderstorm now more dirt devil. There was nowhere to pull off the highway to drive closer to the turbulent temper tantrum, so cameras were not included.

          1. Was it Tom and Jerry duking it out once and for all? Was it Wile E. Coyote’s rocket pack finally catching up to the Roadrunner? Or, was it Optimus Prime saving the 1980’s from the Decepticons in a fast and furious battle over who made the best sandcastle?

No, sorry, it was “just” the dirt devil spinning around, though it was strong enough to be seen from miles away off the highway. As I’m on the sofa watching Saturday morning cartoons, I hope nobody was caught outside by it.
