Song Challenge: Day 14

Today’s challenge is “a song you liked hearing at a wedding.” I sat here thinking of all the weddings I’ve been to in my life, and the only songs that immediately came to mind are from marriages that ended in divorce. For all those weddings I’ve been to where couples are still together, I can’t remember their music! My advice to people getting married is: Pick music or songs you’ll continue to feel affection for no matter how things end up, and don’t let anybody talk you out of your music choices. That music may be among your best memories.

“Colour My World” is the first song I taught myself on piano. Yes, it was played at a wedding. My first one.

  1. I haven’t been to a wedding in about 8 years, when my brother married his hubby. The church where their service was at mentioned at one time a to-be-married couple wanted songs from Star Wars and a different pair wanted The Wizard of Oz songs.

I don’t remember what was played at my brother’s wedding, though. Actually, none of the Other Weddings I’ve been to either! I think that was mainly due to me and my camera.

So, I would like to hear the award ceremony in Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope. I’m sure he won’t mind, whenever I find him.

    1. This music? I’d be happy to hear it during either the walk up an aisle before the ceremony or down the aisle after the ceremony!

I hope all good things–including love and music–manifest for you. =)

  2. I don’t like weddings. I am sure they are lovely for the couple concerned, but I find them very dull and drawn-out.

Of course, I am very grateful that the straight people over here let my kind get married now, but I won’t get married myself. Not that I am likely to get the opportunity. And not that I’m bitter! :o)

    1. I’ve been to a lot of dull weddings and a few very happy ones. As much as I love shooting pictures, one job I’d never, ever want is wedding photographer. I should suggest to Tim that he write a novel about a wedding photographer. I feel like it would probably make me laugh. A lot.
