Nothing clever to say, no anecdotes, no reminiscences. Very little writing done, but I tried. Replaced a couple of small broken kitchen appliances. Was VERY happy our frozen hot water line thawed with no damages that Tom can find. The cold has abated somewhat.
Dogs just wanna get warm.
Or watch TV with Tom.
Happy birthday to somebody I still like to think about and remember. Something you once said to me is engraved on my heart in a way that will always delight me. Also, you had a nickname for me, and I may let one of my characters use it for another character.
Speaking of 80’s music,
Dogs just wanna get warm
Girls just wanna have fun
And, bow back to the record machine rivalry between those Jersey guys…
That was exactly the song in my head when I wrote “dogs just wanna get warm.” And you’re right–the Eighties were very good to both of them. Also, I have respect for the way each of them is aging. They do good things, and their wives and children are important to them. Let’s hear it for the Jersey guys and gals! (I have a nephew who was born there, and a niece living there now with her husband and new baby, who just experienced her first snow and isn’t a fan.)
Frozen? But you live in TX!
We definitely have a winter season in Houston, and go north of us and into the panhandle, and you’ll find some serious winter weather with below freezing temps and snow.
How curious! I always find it weird that many places in the US experience harsher winters than we do it the UK, despite us being further north. We benefit from the Gulf Stream, however – otherwise we would still be enjoying Frost Fairs on the frozen Thames!
