…write and juggle.
With apologies to Shakespeare.
Here’s today’s playlist: the melodious and talented songwriter and perennial “Saturday Night Live” crowd pleaser Paul Simon, with Graceland; Songs From The Capeman; and The Essential Paul Simon, a two-CD set.
All I ever knew of Simon and Garfunkle was that Greatest Hits record, the cover with them sitting on a curb or wall in a greened park. At that age, I didn’t know who was who either. So, when that Call me Al video showed up, I thought the guy singing was Paul Simon, when it was he who impulsively changed instruments.
Near the time of your posting, I was watching The Muppet Show meets Paul Simon. Is that a re-run/repeat if it’s a video on demand via the Internet library subscription? Or, is it a rental? We don’r say those things anymore; we say noun+ instead, in this case, Disney+, because still today everything has to have a (meaningless) + on the end. I would sooner have bought their DVDs instead with all the bonus features that would qualify as The Muppet Show+. Thanks, Al, I love the Graceland album too.
Graceland was unlike anything that came before it on the radio.
Your subject header made me think of ‘Rebel, Rebel’.
Did you just make a David Bowie reference?! I hope so, because it made me smile from ear to ear.
I did. It must be catching!
