I previously posted a photo here titled The Creation of Birds, done in masonite, oil in 1958, by María de los Remedios Alicia Rodriga Varo.
Surrealism is rarely my go-to, but there’s a lot happening in this one to intrigue me.
Who goes there? Please leave comments so (An Aries Knows)!

At first glance, I thought about Big Bird and Oscar sneaking up from behind without his trash can, probably wondering where it went. I’ll admit I’ve been watching The Muppet Show DVDs again.
I’m going for a curiosity mood for this one.
I keep looking at that contraption that’s helping her color the birds: an early version of AI?
I thought of it as a prism for moonlight, and the angles help the bird pose while being drawn and communicate the bird’s, say, moods?
It’s the violin iPod/waliman/soul harnessing machine that goes around the ears to the pen that I am also curious and also relate to along with the prism.
But, then there’s that Grouch dispensing the primary colors instead…
I think what you’re calling the Grouch is what I was referring to when I said it looks like early AI.
Oh, now I get what you were looking at.
But, do we want a grouchy AI? 😉
I don’t much want AI at all, even if it’s pleasant. =)
