Yesterday, Houston artist Jen Mathis sent out the following request on social media: Gimme a drawing prompt, Twitter. Make me feel like I can do something useful.
Having long loved her work, and with Johnny Depp all over the news lately, I sent her this prompt: Edward Pre-K-Scissorhands. AND I LOVE HER DRAWING SO MUCH.

It took me back to a museum I visited in 2008 with family members–different movie. Same affection for Johnny Depp.
I have loved J.D. for so long. I’m ot sure how I feel now
I hope you figure out your feelings in a way that brings you peace.
Fun pic! And so cool to have that interaction with a fellow artist.
Also, I think the ageing process is going backwards for you.
Oh, let me take a photo of my face in full sun, and you’ll know there’s no portrait in my attic. =)
Muppet Babies made me cringe every time someone suggests a childhood version of a character introduced as older. I find it odd when I rewatch the likes of Harry Potter that this doesn’t bother me at all. In your case, though, I giggled at the idea of Edward Scissorhands in Kindergarten with safety scissors as hands and was only allowed to use Adult Scissors TM just before puberty. Clearly he won that argument with his parents or genes.
I wanted to give her a whimsical prompt, and she delivered!
