Current Photo Friday theme: Balance
Antique apothecary balance scale, early 20th century, used to weigh powders and medicines by pharmacists and chemists. These scales were also used by jewelers.
For the sake of my bank balance, I didn’t purchase this from a Heights antique store. =)
I love old things. They are things of beauty in addition to being practical.
You express that well. I think it’s one reason I like wandering antique malls.
I may have mentioned in my blog at the time, when I stumbled across a reclamation yard last year. There was so much stuff I could have bought for my garden. I need to be careful said garden doesn’t come to resemble Steptoe’s Yard! (Ref. Steptoe and Son – remade as Sanford and Son in the US).
I love a big overgrown garden with a bit of wildness. I can’t grow them, but I enjoy them.
