Friday was Tom’s and my 33rd wedding anniversary. We got flowers from his parents. He got me a card and Starbucks, and I colored a card for him.
We don’t really do anniversary gifts, but we did prepare and eat a delicious dinner together: ribeyes, twice-baked potatoes, and salad.
Things I’m into right now:
Wolf Van Halen’s new release, on which he plays all the instruments and does all the vocals. I think it’s really good. I’d like to hear him as part of a band dynamic, because I think it would allow him to be even more creative. I’m sure his father was proud of him and would love this record. What a talented guy.
Wolf was the same age when EVH died as I was when my father died. It was a horrible year for me, and I went off the rails in many ways. It took me months to write even a poem about my father. Kudos to Wolf for being able to create so beautifully in the midst of his grieving.
For all the months before this last week, I was working in the middle guest bedroom, sitting on the bed, with my legs stretched in front of me, while I used my laptop on my over-the-bed-table. Now that I’ve moved to my regular desk, because my feet are on the floor, and maybe because of the heat, I’m retaining water in my ankles and feet. So I got this foot rest to go under my desk to keep my feet elevated. It’s perfect. And Jack is trying to figure out if he can make it his. Only if you can go ratlike and flatten your bones like they’re cartilage, Jack.
Happy Anniversary! Wow 33 years together. That is wonderful. Love to you both.
Lisa
Thanks so much, Lisa! It doesn’t seem like that many years.
