If you recognize it, happy All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day, and Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos. I’ve heard some people say this is all a little too close in the midst of this horrible, global pandemic. But I think any time we honor our ancestors or those lost, we are connecting to them and to our shared humanity.
This button is from my personal collection.
This time of year is one of remembrance for me, so the day is particularly pertinent.
Anniversaries and other significant dates, and memories of lost ones are hard any time, but I think harder during these darker months with shorter days. It’s often hard to be motivated to seek solace in nature when the weather isn’t cooperative. I wish for you interaction with friends, even electronically, and the continued love of your particular animals, whose lives you’ve enriched with your care and love.
I hope the right books, music, and movies or television find you to make you laugh, or think, or have good memories, or appreciate them as the gifts of the artists who share our humanity.
Thank you. I think this can be a melancholy time of year for many reasons.
I am enjoying re-connecting with you and your blog.
Thank you. You know I’ll always read you, too. =)
