This is Bruce.
I’m never sure what it’s okay to share about some of these dogs, and though Bruce’s story is probably a matter of public record, it’s a tragic one all the way around. Shortest version: Bruce through no fault of his own was shot through the mouth. The bullet went into his leg and ricocheted off his bone. He lost some teeth, but his mouth will be okay, and his leg will need time to heal, too.
Through it all, Bruce was a complete trooper and offered nothing but love to those who had to examine and treat him. Everyone said he is a dog worth saving, and now thanks to BARC, our rescue org, and our rescue partner, he’ll find his best life in Colorado.
Bruce, you are a survivor and a great dog. It was an honor to meet and photograph you.
