It’s been a very wet one in Houston, with Tom scooping a few gallons of water out of our back room and me working even though I’m not supposed to be. Bringing me to tears more than once today: messages from people all over the world on social media offering love and support for the USA. Sometimes it’s good to be reminded that people honor and see the best in us even when the worst in us is on glaring display every day.
I still have the audacity of hope. The flag has dried out and is waving gently now as the sun begins to set.
It was a hard 4th, and I never thought I would say that.
I get it.
Wet? What is going on over there? We are in the midst of a heatwave.
We are, too, now. I’d like some moderate rains for the next month or so. No hurricane activity, please!
Fingers crossed!
We had rain all day yesterday and it’s finally cooled down. Thank goodness!
