This is Lucy. She has a companion, Ethel, who is being fostered by someone else, and I couldn’t leave Miss Lucy in the shelter alone, so Tom and I picked her up Sunday. She’s very, very slowly coming out of her shell. Ethel and Lucy’s former mom is in poor health and unable to take care of them, so now they’ll get a new family in Colorado (hopefully together). If after a few days our rescue finds a foster home that can take both of them until they travel, we’ll let Lucy reunite with Ethel. But we don’t mind if she stays with us for a while. She’s the first foster we’ve taken since last year’s flood, when Brandywine and her two pups were with us and had to go into a new and unflooded foster home. They were all adopted after getting to Colorado, where I hope they never go through another natural disaster.
This is Jack. He has to stalk lizards because Lucy’s not quite brave enough to play with him yet. He’s letting her have her space. Being a good foster brother is one of Jack’s better attributes.
Today I had my eyes examined and ordered new glasses. I will keep them away from Jack, because in the past, he’s destroyed one pair and mauled another. This habit is not one of his better attributes.
Scruff says black and white are the best colours…
I hope they can be rehomed together.
It looks like Ethel is on hold and Lucy is still a free agent. But they’ll be great wherever they go. Lucy didn’t seem to mope for her. She got along great with my dogs.
That’s good to hear.
