Oh do I love museums. Some of my most favorite days when I lived in the DC area were when I would take the metro into the city with $10 … I could see all the museums I wanted, and had lunch from a vendor … all are amazing.
I loved the CocaCola Museum in Atlanta ….
I loved every castle I ever visited in Germany, although I am not sure that they are technically museums. There was one … just a ruin of a castle, but there were still tours — and the story the guide told us was about two brothers who fell in love with the same girl, they fought on one of the towers, and one brother pushed the other off the tower in anger. He could never look at the girl again without thinking of how he had killed his brother. His pennance was that he had to build a chapel on the very spot his brothers body fell … and he did and the chapel is still there. It is very small and three walls and most of the room are rock from th cliff …
It’s hard to pick a favorite, however I think The Ringling House is the most inspirational. I saw it before the renovation and I have seen it after and both inspire me. I’m going to set a story there. Oh, and the art museum is amazing.
