I used to say I felt old when I stopped recognizing who was on the cover of my Rolling Stone when it came in the mail. I have a new criterion. When I have iTunes playing while I work, I constantly hear myself saying, “I love that song. Who sings it and how did it get into my iTunes?”
You must have the streaming internet radio on 🙂 I was happy to find HFS back, but they only use 64 kbit. Radio Chocolat is good also. And some of the college radio streams aren’t bad either
Nope, it’s my own personal iTunes, with music I’ve downloaded to my computer. So I really should know who everyone is. Though I have bought compilations of music used on TV shows I’ve watched on Netflix, so I’ll cut myself a little slack on those.
Oh, compilations, OK. That’s not nearly as bad as:
~Sitting down at the table for dinner…~
Mom: ~startled~ Where’s my knife?
Me: ~calmly~ It’s in your hand, Mom.
Alas, I actually went out and bought a cane … just in case I need it.
I have one–my father’s–and it has come in handy a few times. Not for shaking at people or whacking them, but for supporting injured ankles.
I look forward to the day I can shake my cane at people. Perhaps I should improvise with an umbrella?
Umbrellas are good, too. And you’re less likely to fall down than if you use your cane.
