Most of the record/CD stores are gone now.
I know. And I had a couple of favorite ones back in the day when I was actually willing to leave the house and shop.
Costco…on Saturday…free food samples.
But soooo many people…
…and I am lost and finally alone in the crowd.
I actually completely get that.
I hear there is a pumpkin shortage. Costco will just have to make Village Inn sized pies this year. But, I also heard about turkey disease…
It’s a Thanksgiving nightmare!
Marshall’s or Ross or Tuesday Morning types of stores. It is as close to rambling through old junk stores as i can get most of the time. I like finding surprises.
Especially ones with citrus slices on them…
La la la la la.
Antique shops. I get to reminisce about my childhood growing up with so many of the objects found in these shops. Being born to older parents, who believed in taking in and caring for elder relatives, brought many fascinating treasures into my life.
We have a couple of big antique malls here that when I feel like browsing are not a bad place to go. Lots of memories evoked, as you say.
World Market with all the junk from the four corners of the earth that you never would buy anyway. But last week I did discovered an entire bin of Little Golden Books that will soon be gifts for my three year old great nephew and niece. Also they always have some new form of licorice I’ve never seen before.
Love Little Golden Books! When I was a teenager back before the dinosaurs died, there was a store called World Bazaar in Birmingham, which was about an hour from our little town. When Lynne’s mom would need to work at her firm’s Birmingham office, she’d drop us in the shopping center where that store was located, because Lynne and I could spend hours in there just looking at all the unique stuff.
Selfridges. I have champagne tastes and lemonade money, but I can enjoy looking.
Looking is often more fun than buying. I enjoy looking at rings or antique jewelry, but I don’t buy jewelry–not sure if I would even if I had the money.
