A bicycle/skate helmet.
I’ll bet no one else has that answer. I’m thinking it may have saved you at least once?
That, and these sunglasses saved me a few times.
Also, a friend I made at University wouldn’t have been there if it weren’t for surviving a hit-and-run that destroyed her bicycle helmet. For some reason, motorcycles are not required by law to wear a helmet in this state.
My rubber duckie flannel pj pants!!!
Long may they endure!

I wore that darn thing for YEARS… even past the point that it actually fit me (as you’ll see from the photo)!
And WOW, did I ever have long hair in that photo…
What made you finally give it up? Or is it still packed away somewhere?
I finally let it go because it had become totally shapeless and faded (you know how black cotton fades to a sort of charcoal grey?) and every time I wore it I felt like a slob. But I definitely got many years of use out of it!
When I was a little girl in Germany we passed a shoe store and I fell in love with a pair of shiny red clogs with a white apple on each. They fit perfectly, and I loved them more than anything. And while I still love clogs… I have never ever found a pair of shoes that I loved as much … and I think that is why I am indifferent to shoes …because there is never ever going to be another pair of shiny red clogs with a single apple on each shoe.
I can no longer wear clogs, but I hope one day your dream comes true. You never know…
A pair of jeans, from college days, that I embroidered around the bottom of each leg. I wore them nearly everywhere.
I’m trying to remember if Lynne embroidered her jeans–I know she used to embroider the blue work shirts we wore. Do you remember when the guys took their senior home ec class (whatever they called it) and they all embroidered their jeans as their project?
My burgundy and navy plaid shirt and my black jeans.
I’m still looking for the perfect pair of black jeans. I haven’t found them yet.
I’ll have to think about that one.
