Whee doggies, I know I’m late in the day with this one, and I wish you luck. Every time I think of a favorite movie line, I think of five more that I quote all the time. So feel free to put your top five if you can’t narrow it down to one.

this is actually easy, while I have a lot of movie lines I love … “As you wish…” is my favorite ….
and as an added bonus, one I heard last night from a tv movie ” Oh look, a murder, and Jessica Fletcher is here, what a surprise!”
Ha ha–love that last one. And “as you wish” has to be a favorite of fans everywhere.
In another 20 minutes, she’ll finger a guest star.
not an exact quote but:
“We don’t know nuthin ’bout birthin’ no babies!” when a pregnant woman would end up in the ICU.
It’s amazing how many times and ways that line can be used.
5) “I see your Shwartz is as big as mine!” – Spaceballs
4) “Yes, I did it. I killed Yevette. I hated her, so much, that flames… ” – Clue
3) “You’re a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot!” or just about any line in 9-to-5
2) “I am just so excited! The Rebellion will be over, and then we can go on a picnic! And pick flowers and… and… chase butterflies…” – Darth Vader in Star Wars Uncut
1) “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return” – Moulin Rouge
Bonus points: “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.” – Harry Potter
I need to see Clue again. It’s been a long, long time.
A friend in England sent me the Sherlock version of the Clue board game. We used to play the original version of the board game when my family lived there. I like how the movie personified the game.
ACK! So many to choose! Here’s one I used just the other day…
“‘Atta girl,” (with a slightly hungover tone), as spoken by the alcoholic secretary in “9 to 5.”
“9 to 5” is always popular.
“She’s down at Charlie’s, gettin’ drunk.”
“I’m your huckleberry.” – Tombstone
“…and don’t call me Shirley.’ – Airplane
“That wasn’t flying. That was falling with style.” – Toy Story 3
“HELLO! MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA! YOU KILLED MY FATHER! PREPARE TO DIE!” – Princess Bride
“My precious.” – The Hobbit
many more
“Inconceivable!” I don’t know how forgot about Princess Bride quotes… so, so many…
I’m pretty sure I can recite almost all of Airplane and also Caddyshack.
Tom Hanks in “A League of Their Own:” “There’s no crying in baseball!”
Another favorite! Although I may use “What a hitter!” (about Marla Hooch) even more.
I always seem to be playing catch-up but these questions take a lot of thought, sometimes. This applies to the bureaucratic demands of the day when I was teaching school: “just one big cluster f***”. Heartbreak Ridge.
Now that is a quote that is probably handy in almost every profession. =)
Alternatively, my most loathed:
“Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.”
*spew*
HA HA HA! That’s very curmudgeonly of you. I like it.
