I couldn’t hold my eyes open Monday night and decided to take a little nap around 9:30, I think. Then I woke up just before two a.m. rarin’ to go, as they say. Caught up on a ton of online reading, did financial stuff (I always like doing this in the middle of the night anyway, because it’s quiet and I can focus–math is hard), and suddenly it was almost breakfast time. As promised to Rob E, here’s a shot of the cinnamon biscuits I baked. I ate only one.
So far.
Mmmmmm, from this snowy place in SLC, those sure look good! Me, just having oatmeal.
Sticks to your ribs! (Has D ever told you his answer to that from when he was a boy?)
No, but I will ask him.
Just? Just oatmeal?
Go hunt comments on her Button Sunday article on Attempted Murder :).
~Evil Laugh induced by too much oat and chocolate~
Did you ever follow Mark G. Harris’s LiveJournal when it was public? He was the Quintessential Oatmeal Guy.
Yes, that is how I started following yours (and a few others at that time). I’m not in his filter, though. I have no idea why.
You’re not filtered out. To the best of my knowledge, he no longer keeps a public journal, even for a select group of people to read. It’s all private now.
ETA: Not that I mean to speak for him.
I hope he is alright, then.
He has a story in one of our forthcoming anthologies. His excerpt is number seven from now. (I’m going in order of table of contents.)
Now there’s a cinnabun! 🙂
I tried to make something similar five years ago, but it turned into a coffee cake. Then, I thought, if I double the recipe, I’ll have more! Not so in the convection oven of high altitudes. I had a pan of well-cooked cinnamon cracker layer on top of hot batter. After more experimentation, I did finally get there.
This was also an experiment. I’ll keep perfecting it, too…though infrequently, or we’ll all be getting too much sugar.
Yes, please!
There’s one left. A few seconds in the microwave, and it could be melting in your mouth.
ETA: Cancel your flight. I just ate it.
Dang! Guess I’m going to Cinnabon.
Employee discount!
I find that when all else fails, cinnamon and sugar makes the ultimate food fix! Also butter helps.
There were dipped in butter, then sugar and cinnamon. So I included all the major “fix” groups! =)
Yum! Now I’m ready for lunch.
Now you know how I feel reading your blog.
