Gee, and my mother always told me that Labor Day was created to honor her because she spent her entire 9/4 birthday in the hospital in labor waiting for me to arrive the next morning.
She told you the truth. =)
Isn’t Labor Day a day off work for many..?
Yes. Though it seems many people think it’s a holiday to shop back-to-school sales or cook out, it’s meant to honor America’s workers as being integral to our country’s strength. Unfortunately, as the economic divide has widened, people seem to have forgotten the social and economic advances made by organized trade and labor and tend to disparage unions for a whole range of reasons.
I’ll spare you any of my diatribes on the issue!
