Just another of many things I was going to learn/undertake to do over the years. I never did, and sometimes I wonder why the books are still on my shelves.
Then I remember that my father had three new careers when he was older than I am now.
Lillian Carter joined the Peace Corps at age sixty-eight.
Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote her novels in her sixties.
Stan Lee was forty-three when he began drawing super heroes.
Grandma Moses began painting in her seventies.
So…never say never!
Based on repeated failed attempts in the past, I doubt if there is any chance of me becoming a figure skater. And even Renee laughs at me trying to walk down an icy sidewalk.
I won’t go near ice. This is why I have to live where it’s warm.
Jim S. started taking guitar lessons at 54. OK…bad example. The others are good ones, though!
No, GOOD example. Are you enjoying it?
Yes, it’s fun. I enjoy being able to “make music” and especially enjoy finger-picking as opposed to strumming. It’s also difficult and makes one appreciate those who do it well, making it appear so easy. I didn’t know when I started that there are about 42,000 guitar chord shapes. I know…maybe twenty.
You’re on your way!
I admire you. As long as you don’t make dogs run from the room (this happens when I sing to them), I say you’re doing great. =)
I took a signing class when I was in college. I’ve used it with several patients we’ve had, and when Danielle was young and we were working with her speech I used it. It’s been pretty handy, even though I’m nowhere near fluent.
