This button was a gift from my brother’s other half, Geri. She’s been on my mind a lot lately because she’s making some big and exciting changes in her life. The button describes her well; we all had so much fun with her when my family visited last February, and afterward, she sent me a birthday package that included the button and some “little” art. Even small pieces can have a big impact, and I’d like to share these new-to-me artists with you. Then we can all be grateful to Geri. =)
Artist Melissa B. Rackliff calls on “both physical and spiritual memories…to bring to the surface an energy expressing that we should honor each gesture made; that each moment has some impact on the next…” Having done an entire series called “Every Moment is a Window,” I couldn’t agree with her more.
Artist Gerri Calpin explores and teaches the use of fiber and textiles in art. Her interest in fiber arts began when she was a professional dressmaker. Something for Barbie and me to think about, right? Speaking of Barbie, Geri also sent this “Barbie-sized” easel that I can use to display small art.
Artist Janet Nunn has been “capturing the Colorado landscape for more than twenty years…,” using her art to share “the stories and people behind each of [her] paintings.”
I quoted the information about the artists from The Evergreen Gallery in Evergreen, Colorado. Check out their site to see their wonderful space and to learn more about these and other artists. Again, thank you, Geri, for your thoughtfulness. And good luck with your new endeavors!

You’re very welcome. We’ll let you get settled in first!
