this isnt’ a poem IT IS MY LIFE
Maybe your life IS poetry.
You mean you think you’ll retire..?
I doubt many of us will.
I have a portfolio, but not one I can retire on. Think I could make a convincing Costco greeter?
“Why are you here? Do you REALLY need a 72-pack of Charmin? Come *on*.”
Hmm.
I’m convinced!
When you said “portfolio”, I immediately thought of the written documents I used to have to assemble to verify my qualifications and goals as a teacher. The presentation always had to meet the approval of my principal for me to receive a good evaluation. Now that I am retired, I can do whatever I darn well please and don’t have to seek the approval of anyone!!!
Financial portfolio – I’ll save that lesson for another day. 🙂
Having been my own boss for a number of years, I sometimes speculate about how I’d handle being back in the workforce. I know I’ve developed indifference about many of the things that keep people stirred up in the workplace–which would be better for my state of mind but maybe not so appealing to the stirrers.
Of course, all this self-employment has left me no financial portfolio.
