Yesterday I worked for several hours to continue my “Canvas to Couture” series. I’m glad I haven’t been neglecting it, because I received confirmation that I will indeed be showing my work at the original Barnaby’s (in Montrose on Fairview) during the month of August. Here’s a little peek at four additional ones, now completed:
Unrelated: Do you think the old, wrinkly raisins are jealous of the fresh, pretty blueberries?
Raisins are definitely not jealous. Not only have they had a career in the cereal industry that has spanned decades, but they have had a very successful music career. Considering that blueberries are often portrayed as the “fat fruit” ( Willy Wonka…) the raisins probably look down on the blueberries as obese little upstarts. It has all the makings of a serious fruit war.
Love the portraits!
Thanks!
You’ve certainly put some thought into the psychology of fruit. From now on, you’re my go-to person on this subject.
Now if you were to ask if the raisins were jealous of poms… the answer would be yes. While the banana is the only serious competition in the cereal world, Poms are making a real play in fields that grapes/raisins used to dominate.
Again, I bow to your understanding of fruit.
Fantastic news, Becky! I’m so happy for you! (And jealous; I want a Barnaby burger now.) I can’t wait to see shots from your showing.
Thank you very much. When you return to get iced coffee with me, we’ll go to Barnaby’s, too!
😀
Thanks!
