I spent all afternoon playing with Mlle Renee’s toys since she couldn’t play outside today … or visit with gentlemen callers.
And I will gladly share my cake, just as I did with Mlle Renee. Unfortunately, it was apple cinnamon rice cake. I hope they’ll enjoy it.
However, I was amazed to see that all dogs include unstuffed stuffed bears in their toy collections.
Mlle Renee has unstuffed two now, and she still carries the empty bearskins around. I call them Der Flaterbärs. And some day when I’m in an Austrian musical mood I’ll write an opera to go with that title.
* As to some of my best friends being dogs … my best friend took me out for a birthday lunch yesterday, and malaprops flew from his tongue like honey as he offered me this compliment … “You really don’t act as old as you look.”
