They say–even I have said it on occasion–that dogs don’t judge you, only love you.
But when you’re singing softly to yourself as you write, and one dog leaves the room and the other remains behind you but moans audibly, it’s hard to believe that you’re not being judged.
I sing to Rutlie sometimes and he howls with me. But not howl like a wolf, more like a dying ostrich.

My grandmother had a friend that was a horrible singer but thought it very important to sing to a child all the time for learning purposes. Supposedly, her child’s first words were “no sing.” Whether it’s true or not, it’s always made a great story. (And that’s what counts, right?) 😉
