I’m being a really bad writer. (As always, I’m grateful that my editor is way too busy to read my Live Journal.) My changes to my copy-edited manuscript have to be back to him by Friday, and I’m having too much fun reading other writers’ books to finish my own.
Earlier, I picked up Poppy Z. Brite’s LIQUOR and began reading it. When I got to a page wherein one of her characters says they “might could do” something–a phrase for which I’m often teased–I realized I was having way too much fun reading and needed to get back to work.
I’ll never understand how there can be people who don’t love to read.
back to work! Speaking of reading, I’m about to do an entry about a book I just finished reading this morning…

It is my most favorite, most enjoyable thing to do in the world. Besides travel and teach and eat. 🙂
I am now saying “fixing to” and getting comments from other professors for it. Ha!
