If only The Compound Hounds were as cooperative as those in Iowa.
Grand Marshal Rexford G. Lambert is ready for the festivities to begin.
Greta the Dowager Doberman says, “You told me I was coming for a slumber party. Nobody mentioned a parade.”
Margot says, “Maybe if I hide under the car, I can skip the whole thing.”
Guinness wonders, What’s that Irish beer they’re always talking about?
The Grand Marshal is on the move, trying to get the parade participants together.
“You are kidding, right?”
“Death before dishonor!”
“I will not tolerate rebellion!”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
The Grand Marshal is satisfied with a job well done.
“May I go home now, please?”
Whether or not you’re Irish, happy St. Patrick’s Day from The Compound!
That was so awesome. These photos made my day.
Have an excellent evening.
Thank you. You, too!
How very adorable. I once tried to put one of those mini-leprechaun hats with the elastic band on our cat… LORRRRDDD!!! –Gary
Oh, you notice Tim’s cat Lazlo never takes part in these things. I value my skin.
HA!
those silly, festive puppies!
something about greta i love…her sweet face is calming and i’m not quite sure what else…
Poor thing, she’s 392 years old and snarls at the rambunctious young dogs who approach her, but she’s really just a sweetheart.
OK, so we took Sugar to the dog park on Allen Parkway, and someone had what we think was a dog party. We only knew it was a dog party when we saw the greyhound wearing a green bowtie. Maybe he’s just a snappy dresser.
Greyhounds tend to be a little nattier than the rest of us, I think. Where is a dog park on Allen Parkway? Is it enclosed?
It’s on Allen Parkway @ Studemont. It’s not enclosed, which worried me, but it’s a large “bowl” area at the bottom of the hill. The first time we took Sugar there, she ran. Yes, she RAN! And she’s more apt to play with other dogs. It’s been under water since then, but today it was only slightly really muddy. Did I mention Sugar got a bath today?
Ha! I hope that was AFTER the dog park, and not before.
Yeah, it was after the dog park. Not sure I enjoy bathing the dog. The feeling of fur on my tongue tickles.
I wasn’t invited!!!
Becky,
I mean this in the most loving way. You are such a dork. LOL I loved these pictures and wish I could’ve been there.

Re: I wasn’t invited!!!
You are such a dork.
Oh, I know! And so does everyone on The Compound who has to endure me. I’m glad you liked the photos. =)
Haha! Wonderful pictures! It looks like your crew was cooperative enough.
When you come up for the Midwest Author’s Tour (was that a horse I just heard?) bring the dogs and we’ll have another parade.
It looks like your crew was cooperative enough.
You have NO idea how many pictures I shot to get those few.
I finally thought of who Margot reminds me of at certain angles: Maisie of the kids books. (Some day I’ll get a wild hair and look up ‘linking out of a comment box.’ For now it’s just easier to say I’m too lazy.)
I love these photos! My favorite is the one of Guiness and “fine” — that look is priceless.
