I like washing dishes, especially if there’s a window over the kitchen sink. And I have a feverish compulsion to clean toilets, but I don’t enjoy it. I just want it done. A lot.
I also enjoy doing dishes, especially if there is a window over the sink. Laundry is probably a tie for my favorite task. Working outside is not as enjoyable. I do not like mosquitoes either. The buzzing about is as bothersome as the biting.
Surprisingly, I enjoy mixing vinegar with epsom salt and dawny dish soap. Why? To spray on the plants that Mom calls “weeds” on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work as well on the thistle trees as the potent stuff she used to buy, but at least I’m not feeling ill from the stench! But, the home-brewed mixture does do a good job on most of the plants (that Mom calls “weeds”) around their home.
My other enjoyment is to spray the Method shower spray to keep me from scrubbing soap scum off the tile walls and tub every month.
The rest I do out of necessity, and I wouldn’t say I enjoy doing it, but I have to reward myself for doing so.
cooking – i like cooking if there are people around to enjoy eating. But i do not like the cleaning up. That is for folk like you that like to wash dishes.
Is gardening a holdhold task? you know i prefer to be outside with my hands in the dirt or enjoying the beauty of the Creation.
I have decided that the ultimate solution to household tasks is procrastination! Take care from Hurricane Bill … which will end up going through my neighborhood next Saturday in the latest weathercasts. Why couldn’t it turn west and go to California where the need water?
They need the water, just not all at once. The flooding and mudslides would be disastrous! But it would be very depressing to get a continuous light drizzle for 3 years. Anyway, be careful!
Hands down it’s washing dishes. I’ve been in my apartment over two years and I only turned on the dishwasher once, and that was to see if it worked. I also like making the bed (even though my “hospital corners” could use some work).
David likes hanging clothes outdoors on the clothes line.
This family seems to have a strange connection to laundry. I blame Dorothy Jean. She LOVED doing laundry.
The only thing about laundry I enjoy is the warm, soft feeling of laundered clothing right out of the dryer. I think that’s my only tie to Linus.
I’ve been racking my brain, but I just can’t come up with anything. I love my home, but would rather be doing anything than household tasks!

I just finished doing the week’s dishes yesterday. I ran out of silverware.
I like throwing things away and taking out the trash …
You know what that makes me think of, right?

I love a clean house, but the process of getting it there is no fun for me. My own mother loved cleaning house and did it daily.
As far as anything outside, until we find a way to eradicate mosquitos, that’ll never be my thing! Kudos to you for finding ways to enjoy it!
You see, in every job that must be done / there is an element of fun / You find the fun / and ~snap!~ / The job’s a game! And every task you under take / becomes a piece of cake…

Although, last week i did wash my windows outside and was pleased with the result. Then i washed and polished my front door and it looks new.

We almost never use our dishwasher. In fact, the other night, I DREAMED we used our dishwasher. That’s the most action it’s gotten for a while. =)
Um. Um. Gardening – if that counts as ‘household’?
Definitely. That is HARD work!
It is, but therapeutic too.
