  1. Fall started in the blazing heat of the desert in July since the landlord refused to water. They were “trimming” the “dead” branches off the trees by the pool, which now look like toothpicks poking out of the rooftops. Since those trees were the few that made it through the past two summers without water and still had green leaves not spray painted green, I’m guessing this monstrosity was an attempt to save a few dollars cleaning the pool by removing precious shade.

    1. Meanwhile, what I affectionately call Tree Street, one of very few streets lined with trees that do get water, the fall colors have arrived. How many years this can go on with water becoming more scarce? Who knows.
